Delta-Steyrvistar Glass Limited is the leading glass manufacturer in Western Africa. With two state-of-the-art production lines and a capacity of 450 tons and 600 tons per day, we specialize in producing a wide range of glass products, including clear float glass, tinted glass, bulletproof glass, architectural glass, and automobile glass. Our facility, located in Ughelli, Delta State, is equipped with the latest technology to ensure the highest quality standards.
History of the company
Formerly known as Bendel Glass Industry Limited, Ughelli, the pioneer sheet-glass manufacturing company in Tropical Africa was incorporated on 18th day of June 1964 as Midwest Glass Industry Limited, Ughelli, alongside the Midwest Textile Mill Limited, Asaba and Midwest Cement Company Limited, Okpella, at the instance of the then Midwestern State Government of Nigeria. The three plants were built by Coutinho, Caro & Co. (C.C.C) of Hamburg, Western Germany, who also served as the Technical Partners. Bendel Glass Industry Limited assumed its present name, Bendel Glass Limited, when Midwest State became Bendel State. It was on the 8th day of August 1977 that the company was issued a new Certificate of Incorporation in her present name “BENDEL GLASS INDUSTRY LIMITED” sequel to the creation of Edo State and Delta States out of the defunct Bendel State in 1991, the company was shared to Bendel State Government with 90% of the equity shares. The remaining 10% belong to the Technical Partners, Coutinho, Caro & Company (C.C.C) Hamburg, Western Germany who has over the past years made themselves sleeping partners if not actually withdrawn. The company was established in 1964 at a cost of approximately N2.16m. She is of the FOUCAULT SYSTEM the other systems are coldburn, Pittsburg and float. The last is the most modern, fast and efficient before it went moribund. It was taken over through the Presidential Economic Diversification program of the then President Muhammadu Buhari and revamped by Steyrvistar Limited through PPP arrangement and re-incorporated in October 2018 as Delta-Steyrvistar Glass Company Limited with Benteler Glass and Horn of Germany as Technical Partners.
